Release Notes ZEP2409.0
We are excited to announce the latest release of ZEPCAM software, version ZEP2409.0. This update brings new features and enhancements to improve the functionality and user experience of our T3 Bodycam and ZEPCAM Manager software.
Please find below details of the updates available from November 2024:
New ZEPCAM T3 Bodycam Functionalities
These functionalities require T3 Bodycam firmware 3.1 or higher. These functionalities can be set in ZEPCAM Manager software under Device Profiles.
Assisted GPS
With Assisted GPS (A-GPS) activated, the T3 Bodycam can speed up the time to fix and get an initial GPS location. This is especially useful in areas with weak GPS signal. This technology uses external data sources to improve time to fix and accuracy.
T3 Minicam microphone activation
When using the Minicam with the T3 Bodycam it is possible to choose between the microphone in the bodycam or in the minicam. This can be set under device profiles. An advantage of using the minicam microphone is that audio capture is close to the video camera. For helmet use in a windy environment it may be better to select the microphone of the bodycam. By default the T3 uses the microphone of the bodycam.
New ZEPCAM Manager functionalities
T3 maps in ZEPCAM Manager
In case of on T3 on-device recording, the recorded GPS position is offloaded together with the video to ZEPCAM Manager and will be visible as a track on the map when playing a video. The cursor position on the map will be synchronised with the video. This is similar like the T2 / T2+ videos with GPS.
Other improvements and fixes
- Blue Tooth Trigger: when taking out the USB activation cap from the BT Device, the T3 no longer is being triggered.
- Improvements of the French language within ZEPCAM Manager and Smartscanner interface
- Upgraded hardware version of the Smartscanner (T3-SCC)
- Several bugfixes and performance updates
How to Upgrade
ZEPCAM Cloud Users: Your software will be automatically upgraded to the latest version.
ZEPCAM On-Premise Users: Please get in touch with ZEPCAM Support at support@zepcam.com for upgrade instructions. This option is available only for ZEPCAM Manager On-Premise installations based on Docker.
