Bodycams ZEPCAM round below

You received an email from ZEPCAM concerning this new firmware update for the T3 Live bodycams. On this page you will find more information about the new ZEPCAM software functionalities and new ZEPCAM integrations with video management systems such as Milestone Xprotect.

If you want to install the new firmware you can do so using the steps below under How to activate the new T3 Live firmware.

It will be necessary to reconfigure the server (hybrid.zepcam.com) for this purpose. This reconfiguration will take several hours, from Tuesday the 17th of January at 10:00 CET until 12:00 CET. During this implementation, you will not be able to stream or view (live) footage through ZEPCAM manager. Please, keep this in mind when planning your operations!

T3 Live on-device recording

With the new firmware update, recordings will be stored encrypted on the internal storage (64GB) of the T3 Live bodycam by default. Livestreaming can be turned off, and on, with a button on the side of the bodycam. Local storage is a real benefit, as it guarantees high-quality recorded video footage independent of the availability or strength of mobile networks on location.

Recording capabilities with the new firmware:

  • Start/Stop button: start/stop on-device recording (and livestreaming if enabled with LIVE Mode button on the side
  • LIVE mode button: enable/disable livestreaming at any time when the bodycam is on standby: before, during or after on-device recording. A status indicator will be visible on the small LCD screen on the top of the T3 Live

Docking Stations are essential for offloading on-device recorded videos

To offload stored footage from the internal 64GB bodycam memory to the server, a ZEPCAM T3 Live Docking Station (Single or Multi) is required. Without it, the bodycam will stop operating when the internal memory is full. It is not possible to offload T3 Live footage through a mobile network or local USB. Offloading via Wi-Fi will become possible in a future release. The ZEPCAM T3 Live Docking Stations ensure fast and secure offloading, as well as a significant reduction in the time needed to fully recharge the battery.

T3 Live Minicamera

The T3 Live’s Minicamera offers a wide field of view (165°) and high-definition video that will catch any needed detail. This means clear recordings of any event that takes place during a shift. And, the T3 Live’s Minicamera is waterproof (IP68) and shockproof (IK08) to withstand tough weather and working conditions.

The T3’s Minicamera has night vision capabilities, even in pitch-dark with automatic enabling of infrared, to get clear recordings and livestreams under all lighting conditions even with little or no light source. With the Minicamera, you will not miss a single detail when you are at work.

In addition, the Minicamera comes with flexible and secure mounting options, so you can be sure that the bodycam is securely attached to your clothes or helmet. This will allow you to move freely and quickly.

Please contact your local ZEPCAM Partner or your ZEPCAM Sales Representative for questions or orders.

ZEPCAM integrations

ZEPCAM Manager’s integrations with leading platforms allows organisations and users to share bodycam videos intuitively and securely with the video management systems they already use. Create, collaborate and share ZEPCAM bodycam videos with metadata as evidence with relevant parties, resulting in secure and seamless processes within your organisation.

The ZEPCAM bodycam videos can now be integrated to be viewed in Milestone Xprotect videomanagement system for both livestreams and recorded videos with audio. A specific driver has been developed by ZEPCAM which needs to be implemented and operated on the Milestone server at extra costs. Also, ZEPCAM’s new API allows integration to be developed by third parties of ZEPCAM T3 bodycam livestreams into other VMS software systems used by existing or new clients. Get in touch to explore the possibilities!

Milestone Xprotect integration

ZEPCAM bodycam solutions can now be integrated with Milestone Xprotect. The integration makes viewing livestreams and accessing recordings possible within the Milestone Xprotect video management system. Improve situational awareness and enrich your Milestone XProtect experience with frontline bodycam livestreams from ZEPCAM. Create efficient and easy workflows, to combine video evidence with their metadata from ZEPCAM bodycams with other sources.

ZEPCAM Livestreaming API

A generic API has been developed and described for third party software developers to integrate and connect the ZEPCAM software server with other VMS systems of ZEPCAM customers, for viewing of ZEPCAM bodycam livestreams only for now. Future additions to the API will include the retrieval of ZEPCAM bodycam recordings from the ZEPCAM software server into other VMS systems, such that the same functionality that is now available for Milestone Xprotect can be developed for other VMS systems. The ZEPCAM Manager software server will continue to provide the indispensable encryption security, device management, authentication, roles & rights authorisations and GDPR compliant retention and administration of videos. Please contact support@zepcam.com if you want to receive more information.

How to activate the new T3 Live firmware 2.0.0

If your organization wants to start using on-device recording and has T3 docking stations in place, then you need to activate the new T3 firmware 2.0.0. You can do this easily by following the 5 steps here.

1. Log in to your ZEPCAM Manager account as Admin

2. Go to “Admin” -> “Devices” and verify what device profile is used for your T3 camera as shown in the following example:

3. Go to the “Device Profile” tab and edit the T3 profile which is used currently (see step 2).

4. Select the new firmware version at the bottom of the page as shown below, and click on submit.

5. To push the new firmware to the T3 bodycam, there are two options:

 Over The Air

  • Turn off the bodycam and turn it back on. When the T3 is connected to the internet either via 4G or Wi-Fi, the new firmware will be pushed over the air to the T3 bodycam. Wait for 60 seconds, and then perform a reboot to activate the installation of the new firmware. During this installation the bodycam will reboot by itself once more. If the update is successful, you should see a green LIVE icon on the display as shown here below.

Single or Multi Docking Station

  • Turn off the bodycam and put the bodycam into a single or multi docking station. The bodycam will turn on by itself and the new firmware will be pushed to the T3 bodycam once the bodycam is connected to the internet via the docking station (green E icon top left on the display)

Wait for 60 seconds, and then take out the bodycam. A reboot will occur and will activate the installation of the new firmware. During this installation the bodycam will reboot by itself once more. If the update is successful, you should see a green LIVE icon on the display as shown here below.
