To be sure that your employees can work safely and confidently, it is important to regularly check whether your ZEPCAM installation is still functioning properly. Our checklist will help you assess your bodycam solution.
Checklist: Are you sure your ZEPCAM bodycam solution is working optimally?
The benefits of bodycams for healthcare include safety, GDPR compliant evidence, data security, training and livestreaming opportunities. Paramedics, nurses, hospital security and trainees can greatly benefit from secure bodycam systems that record all interactions when necessary.
For each issue, we suggest a first-aid solution to optimize your ZEPCAM bodycam system. However, should you have one or more issues from this list and the suggested solutions are not sufficient, please contact our experts. We are here to help!
CHECKLIST
1 – Bodycams
- The battery life of your ZEPCAM bodycam is less than a full shift.
Solution: The battery needs to be changed. A bodycam must be able to record for at least 8 hours. For a T2+ bodycam a new battery lasts at least 10 hours, and for the T3 even 12 hours.
- The bodycam is not stable in the mount.
Solution: Tighten the stud screw.
- The bodycam view is not correct (e.g. too high).
Solution: Adjust the bodycam position using a tilt stud.
- The bodycam takes unsharp videos.
Solution: Clean the lens with a soft cloth. In case of scratches: send the bodycam to ZEPCAM for repair.
- The housing is damaged, e.g. at corners.
Solution: Send the bodycam to ZEPCAM for repair. Damage may lead to electronic problems due to water ingress.
- The metal contacts of the bodycam are dirty.
Solution: Use alcohol wipes to clean the contacts. Dirty contact may lead to problems with charging or data offload.
2 – Docking stations
- No or irregular charging and data offload.
Solution: Check the metal contacts of the docking station. In case of dirt, use alcohol wipes to clean the contacts. If the pins of the docking station are stuck, repair is needed.
- Multiple bodycams blink red and green with LEDs in docking station.
Solution: Take the bodycams out of the docking station and reset the power of the docking station. If the problem is not solved, please contact the support team of ZEPCAM.
- The docking station is not offloading.
Solution: Check the power and the network connection.
- The data offload to the server is slow.
Solution: Check if the network capacity is sufficient.
3 – ZEPCAM Manager software
- Be sure to check for the latest firmware versions.
Solution: The cloud will always have the latest firmware versions. For on-premise installations request the latest firmware of ZEPCAM.
- ZEPCAM Manager software is slow.
Solution: Check the network connection
4 – GDPR
- Check if the right people have the correct rights to access, view and manage data. Be sure that you have updated the ZEPCAM Manager access rights for people that left your organisation.
Solution: Go to the Admin section of ZEPCAM Manager to edit users and user rights.
- Are you using the correct password policy (e.g. length and complexity)?
Solution: Adjust the password policy in ZEPCAM Manager.
- The 2-factor authentication (2FA) is not enabled.
Solution: Enable 2FA in ZEPCAM Manager.
- We need to blur the video when showing it to others.
Solution: Apply redaction functionality to blur the video when showing it to others.
- Check if you have applied the correct retention time, according to regulations in your country or organisation.
Solution: Adjust default retention time in ZEPCAM Manager.
5 – Various
- Insufficient amount of bodycams and docking stations to equipe your employees.
Solution: Use the ZEPCAM bodycam system pool based. This way people can share bodycams. In order to assign users to videos a Smartscan for T3 bodycams or Screen / user ID entry for T2+ bodycams is needed. Another solution is to expand the number of bodycams and / or docking stations. - Employees have problems with where to place bodycams on their clothing
Solution: Select one or more other mounts that are available from ZEPCAM
